Hello Everyone! I'm so glad you are here and super thankful that you subscribed to my new website. Your support means the world to me and I hope it continues throughout my endeavor.
If you don't know me personally, I'd like to introduce myself and tell you why I started E.E. Brown. Most people know that I am pretty creative and am constantly dipping my hands into something new. However, this isn't new for me! Oh no no no, I've been working with leather now since I was 14 years old. I desperately wanted a type of satchel and just couldn't find what I was looking for in any stores. My Mom helped me pick out some faux leather from JoAnn's and taught me how to sew. My Dad later took me on my first trip to a leather shop and I was in awe. To cut the story short, we walked out with about $300 worth of leather and my Mom was not pleased. Through the years, I sewed various items like wallets, purses, backpacks, and even leather jackets (both turned out terribly, hence why I stopped making them) and now, I've moved on to artwork.
Take a trip with me back to 2012, where I was featured in our local newspaper:
I truly believe that this is where I was supposed to land. My inspiration for E.E. Brown came from something I saw in a mid-century modern furniture store in Nashville. As soon as I saw it, I was like "hmm, this would make a piece in someone's home". I went out, bought some new leather, and started experimenting. This was in April of 2021. Today, my inspiration has grown beyond what I saw in that furniture store. To name a few - the furniture my family had growing up, my Father's taste in design and passion for architecture, my love for modern and mid-century art, and many other things. At the moment, my pieces aren't at the scale of what I saw in that store, however it is on the horizon. I'm talking about a large scale piece - imagine a 15 foot by 12 foot wall covered in a leather design that you can personally customize to your liking!
All my pieces are made with 100% genuine leather and fine quality products. I believe in supporting local businesses, so there are a few that I work with to help make my pieces perfect.
I would be honored to have your support with my business in any shape or form.
Yours Truly,
Emily Brown
